Annual Cultural Day: Nigeria, in All Her Colours
From Yoruba talking drums to Igbo masquerade footwork, Hausa fanfare to Edo bronze-craft — our Cultural Day was an act of love for the country we belong to.

Cultural Day at Whitesands is more than a celebration. It is a school's way of saying to its students: know where you come from, and carry it well.
This year's edition filled the school grounds with the sound of three languages, the colour of half a dozen tribes, and food that drew long, patient queues. Year groups had prepared for weeks — the costumes were authentic, the dances rehearsed, the speeches researched.
The Cultural Procession around the school was led by senior students in traditional dress and watched by parents lining the route. Several alumni — now university students — came home for the occasion.
Whitesands is, by design, a Nigerian school. Cultural Day is when that is made loudest.
